Mission
Nonpartisan does not mean indifferent.
Voterism exists because democracy is damaged when voters are trained to vote by reflex. The site should be politically nonpartisan in access and tone, but deeply biased toward facts, records, sources, promises, explanations, corrections, and visible uncertainty.
Representation and conscience.
Voterism respects candidates who vote from conscience and clearly held beliefs, even when the vote is unpopular. But conscience should not be a disguise for betrayal.
If a candidate ran on one set of beliefs and governed by another, voters deserve to see the difference. Representing all people does not mean making everyone happy. It means acting in the best interest of the whole public within the commitments the candidate claimed while seeking office.
